Long time no see Surabaya! Last time, I visited this city in 2012 when I was joining a food competition held by one of the prestigious private university in Surabaya. Since then, I have never been here again until this February. The city has grown up into (more) metropolitan city and trip destination city. I had no time to visit around Surabaya due to my tight schedule. Too bad 😦
If you are looking for a budgeted hotel near the airport (around 25 to 30 minutes), then I suggest you to book your room in Ibis Style Hotel, Jemursari (near the Yello Hotel Jemursari).
Located between Jalan Jemursari and Jalan Kendangsari, ibis Styles Surabaya Jemursari provides easy access to Rungkut Industrial Estate, the nearby business hub of Surabaya. It is 25 minutes by car from Juanda International Airport and only walking distance to city’s main mall and Hypermart. The hotel features 132 modern, minimalist-designed rooms, 8 contemporary meeting rooms, a Main Hall, Lobby Bar, WOOt! Pool Bar and Streats Restaurant. Perfect for Business and Leisure travelers.
The room’s interior was well-designed, minimalist-modern with twin beds or a double bed. The standard room was quiet small (22m-square) with 32″ LCD TV, work desk and chair, in-room safe, hairdryer, and free WiFi Internet access. However, you will like this modern style room if you are a neat and simple person.

The swimming pool has amazed me. At glance, I could see the water was clear and the chlorine level was low. Very hair-friendly :p I enjoyed my swimming time so much in WOOt! Pool Bar.

WOOt! Pool
The buffet breakfast was located at the same floor with the pool. The place was quiet spacious, with the touch of blue and orange dominated the resto. There was also some tables on the balcony (outdoor) for you who like to enjoy your meal with the city view.

sTREATs Resto
sTREATs resto offers you some (majorly) Indonesian menu like nasi pecel, nasi leukoh, soto madura, and even the kue pasar. I like the kue pasar more than the cakes. The chewy texture of the kue pasar makes me want to eat more and more ♥

Pecel and Kue Pasar
There was also Western food and Tom Yum Noodle Soup for another options. I like the Tom Yum Noodle, the spicy sour soup completes my morning day. I even drink Teh Tongji Jeruk Purut to balance my taste buds :))

Healthy Breakfast
For the fruit and salad bar, you could choose and decorate your own salad style. The veggie was quiet fresh, as well as the fruit cuts. The dessert bar was pretty decorated, making you want to eat all of the cakes :p

Overall, I really enjoy my short trip to Surabaya. Especially for the pool, Ibis Style offers you a simple luxurious place to spend your day. The room was good and the food choices are plenty. It’s suitable for your destination during your business trip or even your holiday.
Enjoy your trip!
