Welcome to Chinese New Year Luncheon held by Adelle Jewellery! Amazing lunch with all the girls, especially in this beautiful place. The restaurant is still under 10 year of age, but the building is already there hundred years ago, very historical. It was a gallery building during Dutch era in Indonesia and many historical stories happened in this place. You may ask the employees in the restaurant about the history of the building. Sounds interesting!

When I enter the place, I see a beautiful dining area, decorative arts of Indies, ‘aristocracy’ touch, with beautiful chandeliers, and old paintings. Okay, this is one of my most favorite fine dining restaurant since I love classical, unique, and beautiful place. Super love! There are many antique stuffs for the decoration.

When you go on the left side, you can see an oriental decoration area, lanterns on the ceiling, and a small bar. Then, on the right side of the dining area, you will find the artsy gallery. I like this gallery since there are many oriental-antique stuffs decorated the gallery.

Back to the main dining area, the dim light makes the place a little bit creepy at noon. If you like scary stories, then you must come to this restaurant in the evening. There will be a story telling about scary things happened in this place. Wow! For me, this is the right place to celebrate Chinese New Year, related to the decoration and ambient of this place. So peaceful and suitable for celebrating events. If you like to take many OOTD photos with elegant-glamorous-like, then this place can be added to your destination.

The restaurant gives us some choices of main course foods and drinks :

Kluwak Spare Ribs in Spicy Tamarind Gravy

This is must-try dish for Chinese New Year’s Eve reuinion. So perfect! The beef ribs are cooked in kluwak and another spices. The meat is tender, boiled, and meaty. Yummy!

Nasi Lemak Kunstkring

The rice looks small with many small dishes. The small ‘nasi lemak’ is accompanied by black baby squid, fried chicken wings, dried shrimps, crispy river baby fish, omelette, kangkung belachan, and pickles. Good taste, but not addicted.

Kway Teow Seafood Balacan

The presentation was good in which the fried kway teow is placed in the middle, while the oyster, shrimp crackers, and pickles are placed around the kway teow. The kway teow was very chewy (rubbery) and hard to swallow. The taste is actually good, oriental-taste.

Kunstkring Kluwak Fried Rice with Oxtail

It’s just a fried rice, cooked with kluwak gravy and topped with shrimps and bean sprouts. The taste is fine, but not as good as I thought.

Hot Japanese Green Tea

A perfect drink after eating the oily dishes. So calming.

Overall, with the so-so taste, I think this place is pricey. The place is awesome, but the selected set menu is not as good as I expected. However, many people like the foods served and maybe you can try another menu. I would like to go to this place again to try out another menu which are recommended by my friends.

Hello food lovers! Kali ini gw celebrate Mother’s Day di Plataran Menteng. Gw pilih tempat ini karena ambience classic-Indonesia yang kuat dan elegant. Tempatnya benar-benar cantik, elegant, vintage, dan mewah. Terdiri dari 4 lantai dan beberapa private room, kamu bisa merayakan acara private di ruangan khusus dengan minimum spending IDR 5jt. Setiap ruang memiliki decor yang berbeda dan bisa kamu pilih.

Di Lantai 3 ada mini bar dan di lantai 4 ada rooftop untuk garden party. Saat kamu masuk, kamu akan melihat dekorasi dan barang-barang antik peninggalan zaman kuno yang masih terawat. Di lantai 1 ada grand piano dan tempat foto OOTD. Di sebelah kanan, ada lift untuk naik ke lantai 2,3, dan 4. Di lantai 2 lbh banyak spot bagus untuk foto dan suasana nya lbh ramai. Semua makanan disantap dengan nasi hijau, yaitu nasi uduk berwarna hijau yg gurih. Overall, makanan di sini cukup enak dan pricey. Tempatnya cantik sih dan banyak yg celebrate Christmas, birthday, dan mother’s day di sana. Cukup rmaai tempatnya. Gw puas makan di sini. Servicenya jg cukup cepat.

Sushi Matsu – Sushi dalam Rumah

Hello sushi lovers! Kali ini gw nyobain sushi yg lagi hits di social media. Sushi Matsu berlokasi di Hotel Cemara. Tempatnya bagus, rapi, dan didekorasi ala resto sushi pada umumnya. Hanya terdiri dari 1 lantai dna tidak terlalu luas. Ada area indoor untuk non-smoking dan area outdoor untuk smoking. Tempatnya cozy untuk lunch atau dinner bareng temen dan keluarga.
Gw pesen salad, sushi, main course, dan dessert.

Wakame Salad (35k)

Penampilannya unik karena ada potato stick renyah di atas wakame saladnyha. Gw pilih pakai Matsu Sauce yang gurih, agak asam, dan ada aroma minyak wijennya. Enak!

Kamu perlu order min. 8 pcs sushi untuk diplating di dalam sushi house.

Spicy Salmon Cheese Roll (35k/4 pcs)
Ini salah satu sushi recommended dari Sushi Matsu. Pask kamu makan, kamu bakal gigit chili pieces yg pedes! Agak bikin kaget karena tiba-tiba kamu berasa seperti ada ‘dynamite’ di dalam sushi ini.

Ebi Tempura Roll (40k/4 pcs)
Seperti ebi tempura sushi di resto lain, isinya ebi tempura yg renyah dan enak.

Chicken Katsu Curry Rice (68k)

Gw suka banget curry jepangnya! Kental, beefy, gurih, dan nagih. Enak! Must try!

Ogura and Matcha ice cream (20k/scoop)

Sebagai dessert, es krim emang paling pas abis makan berat. Gw cobain ogura (red bean) dan matcha ice cream. Ogura ice creamnya cukup enak dan legit. Matcha ice creamnya juga enak dan berasa banget mactha jepangnya. Boleh nih dicoba.

Overall, makanan di sini cukup enak, tapi agak pricey dibandingkan restoran sushi pada umumnya, Mungkin karena lokasinya masih berada di dalam hotel ya, jadi kena service charge yang lumayan besar. For me, gw cukup enjoy makan di sini karena suasananya cukup nyaman dan tempatnya pun bagus. Servicenya juga cukup cepat. Next time, boleh dicoba Truffle Gyudon-nya yg terkenal enak banget!

Many vendors sell wide creation of ayam geprek that can be found in almost every area around Jakarta, ranging from the original Ayam Geprek with sambal to the melted mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken.

The plus point of the ayam geprek from TPC is the big size of portion and generous amount of sambal! For me, the hotness level is still tolerable for some of them. My favorite is Ayam Geprek Jumbo Sambal Bawang since the shallot aroma is good, combined with the tasty and crunchy of the fried chicken. If you dare to try the spiciest menu, you can try Ayam Geprek Sambal ijo Special. Unlike most of sambal ijo, this one is very spicy and I cried when I ate the chili!

Chicken & Tofu Clear Soup

Besides the street foods, TPC also serves chicken & tofu clear soup as the healthier choice. It consists of chicken, mushroom, and tofu with clear chicken broth base. This warm soup is a perfect choice for your appetizer before having the spicy Ayam Geprek.

Nasi Mawut

Nasi Mawut is a local street food form Java. It is a rice combined with noodle and served with chicken as toppings (similar to Nasi Magelangan). TPC serves Nasi Mawut to the next level. The steamed rice is combined with black charcoal noodle and tempting sunny side egg. The black noodle is tasty, perfectly well paired with the egg. The meat between the rice and the noodle is also tasted good.

Hot China Chix

Chicken wings are also got hype in town. TPC serves spicy chicken wings instead of any other regular chicken wings. This Hot China Chix is delicious, with chili, leek, garlic, and also ginger sprinkles. The chicken wings are crunchy, tender, and juicy. Tasty, salty, spicy, and savoury.

Hot Texas Chix

This chicken wings are made with spicy sauce. The coriander, parsley, and paprika powder have made this Hot Texas Chix even more flavourfull and spicy. So far, I like this chicken wings even though I’m not a fan of chicken wings.

Twisted Nachos

This is my favorite snack from TPC. The beef and the nachos are perfectly combined with cheese sauce and the seasoning. Spicy, savoury, and meaty. Recommended!

**Crispy Cireng (Tapioca flour)**

Cireng is the most favorite fritters and now, you can have them in TPC! The texture is chewy, crunchy, and tasted good! Dip them with the chili dipping sauce to make it perfect!

Fried Tofu Basket

The soft tofu is battered and fried. Eat it with sweet soy sauce and chili. Get addicted with the soft texture of tofu and crispy from the outside.

Overall, The People’s Cafe offers you a variety of global street food with affordable price and brings the local street cuisines to the next level. The taste is good and serves with good hygiene. Try them now!

Kibo Cheese

Hello cheese lovers! Kali ini gw dapet kiriman cheese cake (mini size) yang lagi hits di Jakarta, yaitu Kibo! Yg bikin special dari cheese cake ini adalah isinya. Ada berbagai macam : Original (melted cheese), Choco cheese, Matcha, Salted Egg, dan Mango. Pas kalian potong cakenya, isinya langsung meleleh gitu. So yummy!

Terdapat beberapa cara penyajian untuk flavor tertentu biar makin pol rasanya :
1. Matcha & Salted Egg
Cheese cakenya di-microwave dulu selama 10-20 detik saja biar isinya melted. Apalagi yg salted egg, enak banget dimakan pas melted
Kalo males di-microwave, kamu bisa diamkan cheese cakenya di suhu ruang selama 30 menit biar melted secara perlahan.
2. Original & Choco Cheese
Untuk kedua flavor ini, kamu bisa makan dingin-dingin (disimpan di kulkas) atau dibiarkan di suhu ruang selama 30 menit (nanti akan melted sendiri) tanpa perlu dimicrowave.
3. Mango
Best served in chilled condition. Cukup dimasukkan ke kulkas. Pas udah dingin, langsung deh disantap. Yummy!

Gw dapet kiriman 4 flavor nih : Original, Salted Egg, Choco Cheese, dan Mango. Semua size Mini ya.

Original (30k)

Isinya melted cheese yg enak dan ga eneg menurut gw. Not too strong, not fermented yet, but the taste is good! Enak kok!

Choco Cheese (35k)

Buat yg kurang suka cheese, kamu bisa cobain choco cheese. cokalt nya mild, tetep balance dengan cheesenya. Gw suka banget sama coklat dan gw merasa kurang strong coklatnya, tetep cheese yg jadi pahlawannya.

Salted Egg (35k)

Ini salah satu favorit gw. Telor asinnya cremay, andy texture, dan masih berasa gritty pieces dari telor asinnya. Enak! Asin gurih manis jadi satu.

Mango (35k)

Ini dia flavor terbarunya Kibo. Mangonya mayan banyak di dasar cakenya, Manis asem seger. Me like it

Overall, gw udah 3 kali beli di Kibo (ga termasuk endorse ya) dan belum pernah kecewa. Cakenya selalu enak, fresh from the oven. Ingredientnya pasti yang bagus dong. Untuk harga, masih affordable kok. Kalo kamu beli 4, nanti ada potongan harga. Buat yang belum nyobain, yuk buruan dicoba!

Lewis & Carroll Tea, Thamrin

Hello high tea lovers! I was invited to attend a Royal High Tea, held by the popular jewellery brand : Adelle Jewellery. Lewis & Carroll Tea Flower Market is located inside the Central Dept. Store, near the Crystal Jade Resto. You can spot easily with all the beautiful flowers in front of the cafe.

The place is not so big, but I like the simple-minimalist design. The place is beautifully decorated with the flowers. A good place for phostoshoot of course.

We ordered some of the new menus from Lewis & Carroll Tea for the Royal High Tea Party.

Mad Tea Party (185k)

It consists of 6 pieces of mochi with 3 flavours : chocolate, matcha, and black sesame. I love the matcha. For me, the sesame taste is too strong for mochi. This set is served with 2 kinds of tea.

Panna Cotta (depends on The Flavour)

There are 3 flavours on my plate : vanilla bean, matcha, and nutella. For me, the matcha and nutella are the best. The authentic matcha taste can be detected. The nutella panna cotta is also good and not too sweet, but after you eat one piece of this flavor, you will get full.

Japanese Salad (55k)

Mixed of fresh vegetables, including wakame on top with sour apple dressing. It is tasty and fresh! It neutralizes all the sweet tastes from the dessert.

Truffle fries (50k)

All fries lovers will love this! The fries are crispy and seasoned well, especially with the truffle. So yummy!

Bruschetta Beef (65k)

The bruschetta is good with lots of beef and melted cheese on top.the bolognaise beef is quite good.

Potato Skin with Guacamole (45k)

The baked potato with skin is filled with broccoli and mayo, completed with half-boiled egg and melted cheese on top. So tasty!

Tea Omakase (80k)

The tea selection on Tea Omakase are Houjicha (green tea), Island Cordial (mango, pineapple), Red Ruby Skies (elderberries, hibiscus), Happy Summer Day (peach, mint), and Snow Owl (silver needle white tea) . I love the Red Ruby Skies, judging from the aroma and taste. Fruity and floral notes. All of the tea is served cold.

Overall, the place is good for hangout and high tea event. We really enjoyed our tea time there. All of foods and drinks are quite good. However, the service is not so good. Maybe due to the full tables when we held the party there. needs to improve their service. The price is a little bit pricey, but still reasonable.

Hello food lovers! Kali ini gw cobain cafe baru di Grand Indonesia, yaitu Greyhound Cafe. Lagi hits nih karena baru buka di pertengahan September 2017 ini. Di social media udah mulai penuh sama foto-foto makanan dan cake lucu dari cafe asal Thailand ini. Gw pernah cobain Greyhound Cafe di Kuala Lumpur beberapa waktu lalu dan gw suka banget sama masakan di sana. Kalau mau lihat reviewnya silakan click di sini ya.

PLACE & AMBIENCE

Terletak di sebelah Olivier, Greyhound Cafe (tempatnya ex. Mad For Garlic) terlihat kecil di luar, tapi sebenarnya luas banget sampai ke belakang dan ada toilet khusus customer Greyhound. Siap-siap waiting list di saat lunch dan dinner di weekend ya, lebih bagus lagi jika kamu bisa reserve tempatnya. Ada area smoking dan non-smoking. Karena ramai dan males nunggu lama, gw pilih area smoking. Ternyata, area smoking laus banget dan ada exhaust juga. Jadi, asap rokoknya tidak terlalu mengepul dan bau. Di bagian kiri, ada private room yang bisa kamu gunakan untuk event special, seperti birthday party ataupun bridal shower.

Tempatnya luas, nyaman, bersih, dan cantik. Bisa buat foto OOTD juga walaupun lampunya kuning. Toiletnya ada di bagian luar cafe, sebelah kanan. Unik loh toiletnya! Di area smoking memang lebih enak buat foto-foto makanan karena dekat jendela dan sinarnya lebih bagus. A good area for taking my pictures here.

FOOD & DRINKS

Mostly, makanan dan minuman di sini enak. Sayangnya, service di sini lama. Jadi buat yang kelaperan, harap bersabar ya. Mungkin karena masih baru dan bagian kitchen masih belum siap. Dari 4 menu yang gw pesan, ada 1 menu yang gw tunggu hampir 1 jam baru keluar. Dari laper banget sampe mati rasa.

Fried Chicken Wings (65k)

Menurut menu book, ini adalah appetizer favorite Greyhound dengan foto yang menarik di mana potongan sayap ayanya gendut-gendut. Ternyata, pas keluar, chicken wingsnya kecil kurus semua. Secara kuantitas, memang lebih banyak dari yang di foto sih. Rasanya enak, teksturnya crispy. Agak oily, tapi masih bisa ditolerir. Cocok banget buat jadi cemilan selama nungguin main course dateng nih.

Fusilli With Seafood Tom Yum (95k)

This is Recommended by me! Porsinya bisa bikin gw kenyang, datangnya cepat, dan enak! Fusilinya dimasak dengna bumbu Tom Yum yang asem pedes gitu. Harum banget dan enak! Ditambah udang besar yang enak dan gurih. Menurut gw, you must try this one! Dari segi harga dan rasa, ini salah satu menu yang worth it ya.

Spaghetti with Corned Beef and Fresh Chilies (98k)

Pas dateng, aromanya sedap beef banget, bikin laper! Shredded corned beef-nya banyak dan enak. Signature dish cafe ini. makannya juga light banget, ga oily juga. Sayangnya, dari segi harga, ga worth it sih! Mending gw makan fusili sama lobster, menurut gw sih.

Crab Meat Fried Rice with a Twist (165k)

Nah, ini dia menu yang nunggu hampir 1 jam. Pas dateng, ternyata porsi nasinya emang semangkuk penuh gitu. Kenyang banget! Shredded crab meatnya juga banyak banget. Pantes aja lama, suir dagingnya aja pasti lama. Jadi, ya kita maklum aja sih. Rasanya lumayan enak, standard sih, di bawah ekspektasi kita ya. Makan crab rice nya pakai kuah sayur asin, pikles, dan cabe rawit kecap asin. Nasinya enak sih, pakai jasmine rice (ini yang bikin mahal karena harum dan pulen).

Fresh Coconut Crepe Cake (72k)

This is the infamous crepe cake on Instagram! So cute ♥

Tanduk-tanduknya adalah crepes kering yang super crispy. Mirip kripik manis. Crepe cakenya enak, dilapisi daging kelapa asli dan fresh crema yang ga manis. Gw bisa abisin seporsi sendirian karena light banget dan ga bikin eneg. Must try!

Thai Tea Granita (52k)

Konsepnya unik. Soft ice rasa thai tea. Perlu effort juga sih untuk hancurin segelas esnya, tapi seru. Rasanya lumayan enak, khas Thai Tea dan ga terlalu manis. Cocok buat temen makan.

Nom Yen Granita (52k)

Konsepnya sama seperti Thai Tea Grnaita, tapi rasa strawberry. Warnanya cantik, pink! Menurut gw, rasanya kurang enak karena gw memang kurang suka strawberry, Dibandingkan dengan Thai Tea, gw lebih prefer Thai Tea Granita.

Overall, gw suka makan di Greyhound. Tempatnya bagus, tenang, dan makananya juga enak. Harganya termasuk pricey sih, jadi kalian harus cermat mau pilih menu yang mana. Foods & drinks nya enak dan menarik kok! Gw pengen ke sini lagi buat nyobain menu-menu lainnya. Menunya berbeda dari yang di Kuala Lumpur, harganya mirip-mirip sih. Tempatnya juga sama bagusnya.

Hello October! Pizza E Birra has launched some new menus for welcoming the upcoming big event : Oktobeerfeast! Cheers for every hard work we done through this year! The event will be held at Piazza, Gandaria City on 14-15 October 2017.

Oktobeerfeast is an annual event, held by Ismaya Group : Pizza E Birra. In this event, you can enjoy the live music from Indonesian music band groups while you can also enjoy the foods and beer. If you are interested, you can buy the ticket HERE.

There are 6 new menus from Pizza E Birra that you can have to celebrate the Oktobeerfeast!

Roasted Potatoes (45k)

The smell of sweet-burnt of roasted onion is so tempting. For me, this is a delicious dish for snack. The potatoes are roasted with the seasoning and well-mixed with the mayo sauce. Even the roasted onion are so good!

Sausage and Potatoes (55k)

The potatoes are roasted and mixed with the chicken sausage. Similar with the previous menu, but it is tastier and more rounded. The meaty flavor can be tasted from the sausage.

Chicken Schnitzel (79k)

The thinned chicken fillet is battered and fried (deep-fried), then served with the sauce and mashed potato, mushrooms, and salad. The chicken is so tender and tasted good, although a bit salty for me.

Beef Meatloaf (95k)

This is my favorite dish! The beef is so tender and delicious! Bite it like you bite a beef burger. The meat is juicy, meaty, and beefy. So good! One portion is quite big and could fulfill your hunger.

Appleberfest (49k)

The dessert is coming! Since I love sweet foods, I love this pastry! The sweet-sour taste from apple is well-blended with the sweetness of caramel and cinnamon from the crust. I like the balance flavor from this dessert, The crust is soft, but crispy. I can finish one whole portion by myself =p

Pretzel (free)

You can get the pretzel for free for every purchase of 1 Chicken Schnitzel/Beef Meatlof + 1 Kong Ludwig. The pretzel does not meet my expectation. The texture is quite hard and quite “rubbery”. Too bad =(

Overall, I enjoyed my day, tasting all these tasty foods for the Oktobeerfeast. I enjoyed eating the foods whilst listening to the Indie band. The music and ambience are also good.

If you are a dessert lover, you won’t miss this place. This famous macaron was published in 2011 only in Medan. I usually ask my friend to buy these macarons from Medan to Jakarta. From Medan to Jakarta, you can have it in their new opening outlet in Grand Indonesia and also the newest outlet in Sensory Lab, Mal Kelapa Gading, La Maison is famous patisserie from Medan that is well known for their well crafted Macaron creations.

Established in 2011, La Maison is a passionate patisserie serving only fine and freshly baked artisanal pastries. The secret to our signature taste is pure and fresh ingredients, no artificial flavourings and preservatives added. We are proud to mention that our pastries are Halal (no pork), but some may contain dash of alcohol as flavourings. Let us know if you need any special food requirements, we will try our best to cater to your needs.

In 2016, La Maison had a stand in Hype Bazaar PIK for the first time in Jakarta. Crowds overflow the stand and hundreds of people queued in line to get this tasty macarons. Freshly baked macarons overwhelmed your nose and even raise your appetite. Made from fresh ingredients, La Maison.

The price is more expensive than in Medan, but there is no special price for special flavor. In Medan, you will get extra charge if you buy certain flavor, such as Valrhona 70% Guanaja Chocolate and Ovomaltine. There are certain flavours which are not sold in Jakarta.

I can tell, each macaron has firm and soft texture. Filling with various of flavors which is chewy and not too sweet. Each bite gives a premium taste with good shape detail. I am sure for you pastry lover should be love it.

For the price, 1 piece of macaron’s worth for 20k and you will spend 115 k for a box of 6 pcs. Pretty expensive for most people, considering there are many patisserie stores with almost the same quality taste and ingredients, but with lower price. The quote “Ada harga, ada barang” really is true. Pricey or not, you have to try it for at least once in your life time.

Cakes di Bakerzin emang enak-enak ya! Kemarin ini gw ditraktir makan sama temen gw yang birthday. Tempatnya fancy, cute, minimalist, selayaknya resto kekinian buat nongkrong cantik. Suasanya juga cozy dan sepi karena sudah masuk bulan puasa.

Gw cobain beberapa menu nih, atara lain:

Watermelon cake

Cake yang satu ini unik karena ada potongan semangkanya di antara lapisan kuenya. Cakenya chiffon, ditambah cream, dan semangka. Fresh, tidak terlalu manis, dan light! Gw suka sama yang ini!

Cake yang satu ini favorite gw dan temen gw. Cheesecakenya soft dan matcha tastenya enak. Manis tapi ga eneng kok kalau dihabiskan seporsi. Recommended buat dicoba ya!

menu ini ada di menu khusus”Old Time Favorite” dan tidak ada di buku menu utama. Gw lupa namanya. Pastanya spaghetti dimasak dengan tomat, paprika, dan spice lainnya dengan topping fried dory. Rasnaya biasa aja sih, cenderung asam manis. Yang gw suka adalah porsinya yang banyak dan bisa buat makan 2-3 orang. Puas banget deh!

Gw suka liat presentasinya dan porsinya lengkap: ada salad, french fries, dan sandwich. Tuna meltnya OK, cheese nya ga bikin eneg. Cocok sih buat ngemil sore atau yang lagi pengen diet.

Honey Berry Sweet Tea

Fruit tea yang enak dan segar! Manis, asem, fresh jadi 1. Cocok banget jadi temen makan cake.

Overall, Bakerzin memang salah satu western restaurant yang bagus dari segi makanan, minuman, dan servicenya.Fine dining with affordable price. Cocok untuk makan bareng pacar dan teman-teman ataupun bareng keluarga. Porsinya lumayan banyak.
